Jade Morris, 37, a mother of two going through a divorce from a serving soldier, conducted a six-month secret romance with convicted cocaine dealer Jerome Nunes, 35, at maximum-security HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire. The pair exchanged up to 10,000 messages across WhatsApp and Snapchat — plus explicit photos — using contraband mobile phones smuggled into the category A jail. Judge Peter Carr told Morris she was 'fully aware of her responsibilities' and had caused potential 'untold harm inside and outside' the prison.
The affair unravelled after Nunes dropped his encrypted phone from his cell window to avoid detection during a search, and a letter he had written to Morris confirmed the relationship.
Nunes, whose criminal record runs to 23 previous convictions across 31 offences, was serving 12 years for running a £2 million cocaine ring across South Wales and received a further nine months behind bars.
Morris initially dismissed the allegations as 'ludicrous' before pleading guilty to misconduct in public office and encouraging an inmate to use a prohibited device.
