Fifa's Peace Prize faces the axe just a year after Gianni Infantino handed it to Donald Trump

Fifa's Football Social Responsibility Committee will examine how the award was created and why it went to Trump, with a verdict due in December. Gianni Infantino faced questioning from Fifa Council members in Zurich this week. He was accused of breaching Fifa's political neutrality rules after claiming Trump 'definitely deserved' it. The prize was unveiled in November 2025, after Trump was snubbed for the Nobel.
Infantino told Trump 'This is your peace prize' at the World Cup draw in Washington.
Trump called the trophy 'truly one of the great honors of my life'.
FA chair Debbie Hewitt says she is still pressing Infantino for explanations on several controversies.
