The Financial Conduct Authority has taken Osborne Baldwin Limited — operating under the names Hunter Jones and Hunter Jones Group — to the High Court, alleging the company carried out regulated activity without authorisation. The FCA is seeking a court order to shut down the firm's operations and compel it to repay investors. At the helm is social media influencer Reece Mennie, whose Instagram account has attracted over 76,000 followers; he also hosts a podcast whose guests have included former England footballer John Terry and boxer Conor Benn.

Hunter Jones says it has raised in excess of £300 million for property investments via loan notes, a type of debt instrument companies use to raise capital.
