Fireworks were deliberately aimed at fire crews six times on Halloween night while they answered 89 callouts across Northern Ireland
Dublin Fire Brigade logged its highest number of Halloween callouts in over a decade, with chief fire officer Greg O'Dwyer recording 558 calls by midnight — up from 320 last year — describing the combination of dry weather and a Saturday Halloween as a "perfect storm." Police in Northern Ireland and Essex also mobilised heavily, with 144 incidents reported and dispersal orders issued across multiple areas of Colchester and Braintree.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no injuries or damage despite the six deliberate fireworks attacks on crews.
