First Russian diesel tanker sails for the US under Trump's Putin deal, carrying just TWO HOURS of US fuel

The Malta-flagged Agioi Fanendes left the Baltic port of Primorsk on Thursday with 40,000 tons of diesel, about 300,000 barrels. Americans burn 4 million barrels a day. The tanker is not expected to reach New York until around 7 November, four days after the midterms. President Donald Trump waived sanctions approved by Congress two days before they were due to take effect.

Volodymyr Zelensky branded the deal 'a historic mistake and a big tragedy'.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said 'further shipments will continue at a steady pace'.

It is the first Russian petroleum bound for the US since Joe Biden banned imports in March 2022.
