Flavio Bolsonaro and Lula set to trade blows over corruption and living costs in their final debate before Brazil's tied runoff

Flavio Bolsonaro and Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are set to clash over living costs and corruption in their final televised debate. A Datafolha poll has them tied at 50 per cent, down from Bolsonaro's 52-48 lead. He won the first round with 47.03 per cent to Lula's 45.16, and every first-round winner since 1989 has gone on to win. His father, jailed for 27 years over a coup plot, told him from prison: 'Let's go, it's you.'

Lula, 80, raised Bolsa Familia welfare payments by 15 per cent days before the vote.

Donald Trump has stayed quiet on the race, but called Bolsonaro's first-round result 'a very big victory.'

Brazil's electoral court faces a record 804 legal filings, many over AI deepfakes.
