Fleetwood's biggest-ever match against Arsenal is halted for nine minutes as players are taken off over an unauthorised drone
Referee Michael Salisbury halted Arsenal's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie at Highbury Stadium in the eighth minute after a drone appeared over the pitch, sending all 22 players to the dressing rooms. Police were called amid confusion and anger in the stands, before the operator was identified and dealt with, allowing play to resume in the 11th minute. It is the furthest Fleetwood have ever progressed in the League Cup in their 15-year Football League history.
Salisbury had stopped play initially to consult the ground safety officer and both managers before ordering players inside.
Around 10 minutes after the restart, Aaron Loupalo-Bi fired Fleetwood in front against the Premier League champions.
The Football Association's own guidance instructs officials to cease play immediately upon any drone sighting above a pitch.
