Flights are cancelled at Jersey Airport for a SECOND night after drones are flown near the runway again

Jersey Airport has suffered drone disruption for a second consecutive night, with Inspector Rob McCallum of States of Jersey Police confirming that two or three unauthorised drones were operating in restricted airspace on Saturday evening. No operator has been identified on either night despite an extensive multi-agency response involving Honorary Police, Channel Islands Air Search and Ports of Jersey staff. McCallum said the incident is not believed to be linked to terrorism.

Friday's disruption lasted over two hours, with the first drone report received at 8:20pm and activity continuing until approximately 10:30pm.

Flights from London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Southampton were all diverted; the Heathrow and Southampton services were cancelled outright.

Police are 'particularly keen' to hear from anyone in the St Peter, La Pulente, L'Etacq or Jubilee Hill areas who saw drone activity on either night.
