Florida judge warns Trump his £7.5bn BBC Panorama lawsuit could be thrown out after his team produced a paltry haul of documents

Magistrate Judge Enjolique Lett has set a November 23 deadline for President Donald Trump to hand over outstanding discovery materials, cautioning that his $10 billion (£7.5bn) defamation lawsuit against the BBC faces total dismissal if he does not comply. The suit stems from Trump's claim that a 2024 Panorama documentary defamed him by splicing together two separate portions of a Capitol riot speech.
Judge Lett also required Trump's team to submit a privilege log listing withheld documents by November 5, warning 'failure to comply may result in sanctions.'
The BBC has apologised for the edit but firmly contests the defamation claim, with its lawyers contending that Trump's delays would cause the corporation 'extreme prejudice.'
Trump had previously sought to keep his financial records out of the case, though the judge treated that as a separate dispute.
