Footage emerges of PM Andy Burnham's charity salsa to Livin' La Vida Loca after he vowed 'never, ever again'

Andy Burnham partnered professional dancer Cara Tighe at the 2024 Burrow Strictly Ball, raising money for motor neurone disease charities. BBC Breakfast dug out the clip days after his Celebrity Gogglebox debut, filmed inside No 10 with a pint and crisps. Watching Strictly, he admitted the music gives him 'a clang of anxiety'. He was then still Greater Manchester mayor.

Opponents criticised his Gogglebox stint, but Burnham refused to apologise for showing 'levity'.

'I'm trying to give the country a lift,' he told Radio 5 Live.

If he ever did Strictly, he'd pick 'Sit Down' by Manchester band James.
