Former Green co-leader warns Zack Polanski of a 'hard left takeover' by new members 'more at home' in the SWP

Adrian Ramsay, the MP for Waveney Valley and former co-leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, told the BBC the party risks being reshaped by a "small number" of hard-left entryists who moved to the Greens after George Galloway's party and Jeremy Corbyn's Your Party "floundered". Ramsay voted against the Zionism motion at conference and stated flatly that Israel has a right to exist — a position Polanski has stopped short of taking. The row has already cost the party one elected figure, with the Equality and Human Rights Commission also demanding answers.
Drew Creek, Mayor of Newquay and leader of Cornwall Greens, quit the party and joined Labour, saying the Zionism motion 'crossed a line'.
Labour has said it will end power-sharing agreements with Greens on local councils unless their councillors disown the policy.
Israel's foreign ministry denied Polanski — Jewish himself — entry to the country in the wake of the motion's passage.
