Former lodger of Fred and Rose West fears she watched Fred dig his pregnant victim's grave from her window

Kathleen Richards was 17 when she took a room at 25 Cromwell Street in 1977, greeted at the door by a smiling Fred West: 'Come in, girlies.' Shirley Robinson, whom West openly called his 'lover', later vanished, and he claimed she had gone to Germany. Kathleen fled a year later, barefoot and in pyjamas, after being forced into one of the couple's 'games'. Almost 50 years on, a new documentary takes her back there.

'I joked he must be digging a swimming pool,' Kathleen now recalls.

Shirley Robinson was killed by the Wests along with her unborn child, fathered by Fred.

For decades Kathleen could not bring herself to talk about that year.
