Former Police Scotland officer who filmed himself raping a sleeping woman is jailed for seven years in Glasgow
Derek McNee, 43, a former Police Scotland officer who later worked as a dog groomer, was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow after admitting to raping one woman repeatedly following her being drugged into unconsciousness, and to five years of abusive conduct towards a second victim. Four videos retrieved from his phone captured him performing sex acts on the unconscious woman — evidence Judge Lord Young described as unambiguous proof she was "incapable of giving consent." In 2021, McNee had walked free from court despite being convicted of terrorising a young woman in Glasgow's west end.
McNee also pleaded guilty to possessing an 'ultra-high voltage' electronic stun gun concealed in his car.
Judge Young ordered McNee onto the sex offenders register with no end date and issued non-harassment orders for the protection of both victims.
McNee had initially asked the woman whether being assaulted in her sleep would 'arouse' her — and then filmed the attacks and sent her the footage.
