Former Port Adelaide AFL star Daniel Stewart dies suddenly aged 37 after an 'unexpected medical episode', his Australian gym says

Laura Stewart called the family's loss 'our world', sharing a photograph of the father-of-two with their sons Bernie and Lando. Stewart died on Friday, and Body Fit Training informed its members by email the following morning. He and his close friend and former teammate Matt Thomas had founded several of the Melbourne gyms together. The email asked members not to seek further details and to respect the family's privacy.

Stewart kicked 31 goals in 36 games as Port's key forward from 2010 to 2013.

Port Adelaide will wear black armbands at their first home game of 2027.

Kane Cornes, a former teammate, called his death 'a true tragedy'.
