Former Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood appears in court on two new sex charges, taking his total to 17

The new counts allege Tim Westwood, 69, indecently assaulted a girl aged 16 or 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham in 1991. He is also accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in Wandsworth in May 2004. Westwood indicated he would plead not guilty at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday. He was bailed to appear at Southwark Crown Court on November 12.

His original 15 charges include three alleged indecent assaults at the BBC in the 1990s.

Prosecutors allege the offences, spanning 1983 to 2016, amount to 'a pattern of offending'.

Westwood denies every count and faces a six-week trial at Southwark Crown Court in January.
