Essex Police forced entry to a property in Sawyers Grove at 7.20am on Friday, following reports of a neighbour dispute and a damaged door. A man and a woman were arrested, and a subsequent search of the home uncovered a small number of unidentified items, prompting the bomb squad to attend.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts are working to determine the nature of the items.

Resident Michael Page, 84, said he was told only 'you've got to get out' with no further explanation.
