Founder of India's 'cockroach' protest movement is released from police custody after he was arrested over a flag march

Abhijeet Dipke was bundled into a police car on Friday as he left a friend's Delhi home to lead supporters waving the national flag. 'I have not broken any law,' he told officers. Police formally arrested him on Saturday, citing the need to avert a breach of the peace. His party's spokesmen, Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, were already jailed for five days.

The movement wants election chief Gyanesh Kumar out over 130 million deleted voter names.

Student leader Neha Bora was also held and was freed after 12 hours.

His party says they are the first since 1947 'to be jailed for unfurling India's national flag'.
