'Once in a generation' floods force 600 US homes to evacuate as more rain threatens the Four Corners region

In southern Colorado, the San Juan River climbed three full feet above a 100-year flood recorded just a year ago. Emergency crews carried out 20 overnight rescues around Farmington and Shiprock in New Mexico. Roughly 1,500 people lost electricity. San Juan County Emergency Management warned rivers would 'rise again' with up to another inch of rain forecast on Saturday.
Four inches of rain fell from Wednesday to Friday on already-saturated ground.
Floodwater closed stretches of US Highway 64 and New Mexico 371 near Farmington.
Arizona tornadoes stripped roofs from buildings and sent trees toppling onto homes.
