Four flight attendants are injured as a United jet from Honolulu plunges over 3,000 feet in severe turbulence
Passenger Coral Pena said there was 'a huge bang and then we started falling' aboard United Airlines Flight 1157 to Los Angeles on Wednesday night. One witness saw an injured flight attendant with blood on their head and leg. Two crew members, aged 58 and 62, suffered neck and back injuries. One was taken to hospital, and United says no passengers were hurt.
'Everyone was yelling. We were all super scared,' said passenger Marly Wadlington.
The pilot told air traffic control it 'felt like wake turbulence' lasting seconds.
The Boeing 777-200 then waited half an hour on the LAX tarmac for a gate.
