Four flight attendants are injured as severe turbulence rocks a United flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles
Passenger Coral Pena described hearing a 'huge bang' before the Boeing 777-200 began to fall, and one witness saw an injured attendant with blood visible on their head and leg. Two crew members, aged 58 and 62, suffered neck and back injuries. One was taken to hospital after paramedics met Flight 1157 at the LAX gate. None of the 190 passengers was hurt.
'I was watching a movie and all of a sudden we just drop,' said Marly Wadlington.
The pilot told air traffic control it 'felt like wake turbulence' and lasted seconds.
Shaken passengers waited about half an hour on the tarmac for a free gate.
