Four Philippine Air Force pilots are killed when two trainer planes collide mid-air over a base south of Manila

Footage appears to show seven SF-260 trainers flying in arrow formation before two struck each other when the formation split, releasing a burst of smoke. Both came down inside Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas, at 3.51pm on Friday. A witness said one of the two-seaters crashed near the base's military barracks. The air force has now grounded every SF-260 while an investigation takes place.

Two more pilots died in May when another SF-260 crashed in Benguet province.

The Italian-built trainers were used in the 2017 air strikes on Marawi City.
