Fourth boy is arrested over Hampshire Halloween party where gatecrashers climbed a garden fence before five teenagers were stabbed

A 16-year-old from Southampton has become the fourth person detained in connection with the mass stabbing at a supervised Halloween party in Chandler's Ford, Hampshire, after officers searched three properties and removed items as evidence. The event's details were circulated on Snapchat, attracting roughly 70 uninvited gatecrashers to the £800,000 Park Road home; a group got in by climbing the garden fence before stabbing five guests. One 17-year-old victim is still in hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the remaining four — aged 16 and 17 — have been released from medical care.
The three earlier arrests — two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, all from Southampton or Bristol — are being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
Witnesses described seeing a stabbed friend dragged outside, his wound compressed on the pavement, while a dad shouted at the crowd to leave.
Officers have secured permission to extend the detention of two suspects by 36 hours for further questioning, and are continuing to appeal for witnesses with footage.
