France and Germany offer Argentina hunter-killer submarines as Milei warns he could 'take matters into our own hands'

Downing Street has been warned the deal could be a 'game changer' for Britain's ability to defend the Falkland Islands. Three hunter-killer submarines are being sought by Argentina from leading French and German defence companies. The offer comes as Prime Minister Andy Burnham courts Brussels. He told the Commons it would be a 'dereliction of duty' not to seek closer EU ties.
Burnham travelled to Berlin to ratify the Kensington Treaty with Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
He indicated that Germany could join Britain's GCAP fighter-jet programme with Italy and Japan.
Javier Milei insists he does not 'believe in military solutions' while demanding the islands.
