French officials blame far-left agitators for riots after 'ultra-left' activist is arrested over Limoges town hall arson
Hodei Ciarra Docampo, 34, was seized in a dawn raid by the elite RAID counter-terrorism unit in Val d'Issoire, 30 miles north of Limoges. Police had him on a watchlist and say he has a record of attacking officers. He is the 'principal suspect' in Saturday's fire, which brought down the 143-year-old town hall's clock tower. He faces up to 20 years in jail.
Police say he is linked to the radical protest group Les Soulèvements de la Terre.
France has imposed new curfews as cities fight to regain control from masked looters.
President Donald Trump vowed to treat US rioters 'very, very rough', pointing to France.
