Thomas Jewitt, who had been due to marry his fiancée next year, died after suffering life-threatening head injuries at Liverpool Street Station on August 30.
Thomas Jewitt had spent the family day of Notting Hill Carnival before being attacked on a Central Line platform at Liverpool Street station at around 11pm on August 30. He suffered life-threatening head injuries and died in hospital on September 1, with family members by his side, only months before his planned wedding. Jeremiah Maximo, 38, of Barking, east London, faces a possible upgrade of his GBH charge to murder or manslaughter at a future court hearing.
His family said: 'He had a bright future taken away from him too soon — he was excited about marrying his fiancée next year.'
More than 630 people were arrested at this year's Notting Hill Carnival, including 242 on the family day that Tom had attended.
British Transport Police Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn called on anyone who witnessed the assault but had not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
