Gardaí arrest three more people over Irish petrol bomb attack that killed a couple and their two young sons

Gardaí believe a local drugs gang carried out the attack in an attempt to extort €20,000 from Philip English over a debt incurred by someone else. A man in his 50s and two women in their 30s have been arrested on suspicion of aiding a crime gang, bringing the total number of arrests to five. Philip and Kim English were killed in the Waterford fire along with their two young sons, Callum, aged 12, and Jayden, aged nine. Two other children are in a critical condition.

Jessica Dalton, 31, and Cian Stacey, 21, were remanded in custody until November 17.

Outside Waterford District Court, a large crowd directed abuse at the prison van as Dalton was taken away.

At Monday's funeral, the priest called the family innocent victims of a 'web of evil'.
