Manchester United's home support turned on the team within 25 minutes of a dismal 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday, as Dominic Solanke's injury-time equaliser robbed them of just their second victory of the season. United now have six points from six games — their worst start since 1986 — with manager Michael Carrick acknowledging the side must move in a "positive direction quite quickly". Gary Neville declared on his podcast he has "seen enough" of Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo as a midfield pairing. Carlos Baleba came on for his debut and offered an instant lift alongside Mainoo.
Tielemans, a summer signing, was hauled off before the hour mark after being overrun by Sandro Tonali, Lucas Bergvall and Conor Gallagher.
Carrick said he is "massively disappointed" with the points tally but insisted he does not feel "let down" by his players.
