Gaza documentary 'Naza' is to stream free online in November after Netanyahu calls it 'antisemitic incitement'

The Guardian-produced documentary 'Naza' draws on testimony gathered from 24 anonymous Israeli soldiers and intelligence personnel and will be available to stream free online in November, following a theatrical release in more than 50 countries. The film was directed by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor and had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month. According to its official synopsis, it reveals "in detail the systems behind Israel's calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza."

'Naza' is a Hebrew acronym for collateral damage — "Naza 15" means 15 civilian deaths are permitted to strike a single target.

Prime Minister Netanyahu called the film part of "global antisemitic incitement" and said he would seek laws to strip citizenship from those who "smear" soldiers or "defame" Israel.

More than 1,500 Israeli filmmakers have put their names to a petition in support of freedom of expression and solidarity with the directors.
