George Russell wins Baku GP by 0.1 seconds to cut Kimi Antonelli's F1 title lead to 66 points

George Russell beat Max Verstappen by just a tenth of a second to take victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Saturday, his first win in 90 days since Austria. The result trims championship leader Kimi Antonelli's lead from 81 to 66 points, with 208 still available across eight rounds remaining.

Antonelli began 16th on the grid after damaging his front suspension in qualifying, yet recovered to finish fifth.

Lando Norris was taken out by Franco Colapinto's crash, while Oscar Piastri went wide at turn one when a second safety car was deployed and fell outside the points.

Russell led from the opening lap to the last — the first occasion in his career he has converted a wire-to-wire lead into a victory.
