Georgia family say pug they paid to euthanise was ALIVE with a vet worker, before the clinic put her down

Rebecca Belote, of Coweta County, Georgia, paid Senoia Animal Hospital to euthanise her four-year-old pug Cha Cha in March 2026 after being told the dog had organ failure and diabetic ketoacidosis. Months later she spotted Cha Cha alive in a Facebook photo posted by a former employee, and the worker's husband confirmed his wife had kept the pug at home for months in good health. The hospital later put Cha Cha down — something Belote regards as a cover-up — and authorities have ruled out criminal charges.
Belote's 17-year-old son was devastated by the loss; he and Cha Cha 'had matching hoodies they would wear.'
The family also paid for a communal cremation, thinking they were saying their final farewell to the dog.
Belote has filed a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine; the clinic's lawyer says it cannot discuss the matter publicly.
