German police investigate after a car crashes through a Leipzig airport fence weeks after a bomb drone was found

The north runway at Leipzig/Halle airport remains closed and flights have been halted. German officials blamed Russia for the explosive-laden drone discovered near a runway in August, and Moscow has denied it. Officers launched an investigation into the apparent security breach on Saturday evening, finding no suspicious objects or unauthorised personnel, though further searches are planned for today.

A vehicle appears to have driven straight through the perimeter fence.

Russia has rejected Germany's claim that it was behind the drone found in August.
