German federal prosecutors have indicted seven suspects for allegedly securing weapons for Hamas with the goal of launching terror attacks timed to the second anniversary of the October 7 massacre. The accused, arrested between October 2025 and May 2026, are said to belong to Hamas's military wing, the Qassam Brigades, which prosecutors say began establishing weapons depots across Europe some time ago. Prosecutors confirmed a concrete assassination plot in Germany or Austria was planned targeting Israeli representatives, Jewish people, or those with pro-Israel views. The indictment has thrown the reach of Hamas's European network into sharp relief for Israeli, American and European security services.
Suspects named in the indictment include a German national, Abed Al G., and a Danish national, Yousif C., among seven accused of varying nationalities.
The planned attacks were scheduled for 'early October 2025', a date chosen to mark two years since Hamas's assault on Israel.
