Germany misses its gas storage target as reserves hit a record low with winter fast approaching
Germany's gas storage levels have fallen to a record low for this time of year, with the country holding significantly less reserves than it needs heading into the coldest months. An industry lobby group has warned Berlin must act urgently to boost supplies before demand peaks.
Storage shortfalls leave Germany more exposed to price spikes and supply disruptions this winter.
The lobby group says current levels are the lowest on record for the start of November.
