GK Barry reveals she was raped at 17 by her older male boss during work experience

Grace, known as GK Barry, has spoken publicly for the first time about being raped as a teenager by her supervisor during a work-experience placement in her second year of college. The I'm A Celebrity star, now 27, says it took her ten years to recognise what happened to her as rape. Her attacker drove her to a deserted park and demanded oral sex, then on the final day cleared the workplace of all other staff, locked her in a room and raped her.

Grace said she felt unable to resist: 'There was never a moment in my mind where I thought I could say no.'

She blamed herself at the time, feeling the work experience was 'make or break' after failing her GCSEs and having to repeat a college year.

'Rape. It's taken me 10 years to realise that's what it was,' she said of finally understanding the power imbalance her boss exploited.
