Glacial collapse caused Nepal's devastating flash floods that left more than 30 Britons missing
Authorities warn a newly formed lake along the Bhotekoshi River risks breaching its banks, raising fears of a second catastrophic flood as more than 1,300 people remain missing.
Wednesday's glacial collapse sent walls of water surging up to 650ft through Himalayan valleys, burying homes and wiping out bridges in Nepal's Rasuwa district. Over 600 people are now confirmed dead and nearly 2,500 remain missing, including at least 33 British nationals. Among those unaccounted for are Hema Amin, 63, from Croydon, Mala and Bipin Patel from Coventry, and a Hindu priest from Streatham. A UK rapid deployment team was due in Kathmandu on Saturday to support affected families.
