Global Bowie80 programme launches to mark what would have been David Bowie's 80th birthday in January

A worldwide celebration titled Bowie80 has been announced to honour what would have been David Bowie's 80th birthday on 8 January 2027, kicking off events that will run through the entire year. The programme spans fashion collaborations, concerts, art exhibitions and fan experiences across London, New York, Cleveland, Copenhagen and beyond. Bowie died aged 69 on 10 January 2016 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland is to host a pop-up store from mid-November and special fan events on Bowie's birthday weekend in January.

A symphonic concert experience, 'Bowie (Breaking) Glass', pairing his original recordings with Philip Glass's music, is set to premiere in Copenhagen in May 2027.

A Nordstrom fashion collection featuring designs from Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith and AllSaints will launch in Seattle, New York and Chicago to celebrate Bowie's influence on fashion.
