Goalkeeper says he faces 'the most difficult days' of his life after Spanish striker's death following their on-pitch collision

Jesus Owono, the 25-year-old Equatorial Guinea international goalkeeper, has spoken out after Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel, 30, went into cardiac arrest during Monday's Spanish second-tier clash and died in hospital the following morning. Owono's knee caught De Miguel in the chest near the halfway line as he charged out to deal with a long ball, earning a straight red card and bringing the match to an end. Spanish police have opened an involuntary manslaughter investigation, with prosecutors also expected to be involved.
Owono deactivated his Instagram account after being subjected to racist abuse and chants of 'murderer' on social media following the incident.
FC Andorra team-mate Lautaro Spatz said the entire squad is 'devastated', adding that Owono 'would never have intended to harm anyone'.
The full Tenerife squad will travel from the island to attend De Miguel's funeral, which is being held in Navahermosa, Toledo, on Thursday.
