'The Orange Plague' statue of Donald Trump, on display inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg, is scheduled to travel to the COP31 UN Climate Conference in Turkey in November.
A 2.5-metre, 23-karat gold-coated statue of a naked Donald Trump has been erected at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, placed at one of the building's busiest junctions by Danish left-wing MEP Per Clausen. Danish artist Jens Galschiøt titled the work 'The Orange Plague' — also known as 'King of Injustice' — depicting Trump naked, holding an oversized golf club while sitting on the shoulders of a much smaller man.
A card beside the statue reads in Trump's voice: 'I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.'
MEP Clausen said he had no concerns about Trump's reaction, declaring: 'If someone is so thin-skinned that they cannot tolerate this sculpture, they have no place on the world stage.'
The statue is due to leave the European Parliament on Thursday before travelling to the COP31 climate conference in Turkey in November.
