Goldman Sachs boss David Solomon is set to pocket $100m as top executives share a $500m bonus pot

Goldman Sachs chief executive David Solomon is in line for a payout of more than $100m — over double his record $47m pay packet from last year. The bumper reward is part of a $500m bonus pool to be split between roughly 20 senior executives, expected to be confirmed later this month. Goldman's stock has surged around 150% over the five years since the scheme launched in 2021, unlocking the full payout.

The scheme was originally created in 2021 covering only Solomon and president John Waldron, with their combined grants worth just $50m at launch.

Among the other recipients is John Waldron, the frontrunner to succeed Solomon, along with core business heads Ashok Varadhan, Dan Dees and Marc Nachmann.

Goldman says the awards were designed to keep senior bankers in place 'in an increasingly competitive market', with the final sums tied to share price performance against rivals.
