Prince Harry, 42, delivered a speech at the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich on Thursday evening, smiling and taking selfies with wounded veterans while Meghan remained at home with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, days after his return to the UK. The visit came as the Palace pushed back against Earl Charles Spencer's memoir, which alleged that King Charles reacted to Princess Diana's death like a "lottery winner" and told her brother "we'll forget her soon enough," with a statement saying "fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory." Harry was said to have known about the memoir but not to have read it, and he showed no sign of distress as he greeted guests and spoke on the origins of the Invictus movement.

Harry told guests he was "incredibly excited" after sitting on the judging panel alongside Meghan for the awards.

Singer Sonique, who DJed the event, embraced Harry and declared: "It's nice to have him home."
