Google is to investigate its London cloud outage after millions were left unable to pay and courts were knocked offline

Google attributed Tuesday's failure to a 'power event' in its 'europe-west2-b zone', with most customers restored by 3pm. The Financial Conduct Authority has contacted Google and is demanding explanations. Courts across England and Wales lost their video link system for custody defendants throughout the morning. By 5pm, only six of Revolut's 27 services had been restored.
Lloyds, HSBC and DPD customers also reported problems after the crash.
Revolut insisted all customers' 'money and data are safe' and apologised.
The Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority is also examining the outage.
