Google promises an investigation as services recover after a London power failure crippled banks, courts and the NHS app

The Bank of England has launched an investigation into the Google outage, and the public has been advised to keep emergency cash on hand. The disruption stemmed from a 'power event' in Google's europe-west2 region in London. Revolut users were unable to make card payments, transfers, or cash withdrawals, and were also locked out of their accounts, with more than 1,500 reporting problems. By 3pm Tuesday, Google said only a handful of customers remained affected.

Court hearings were suspended after the courts' video platform went down.

Google's only UK cloud location left Lloyds, Halifax, HSBC, DPD and Royal Mail struggling.
