Gordon Ramsay's UK restaurant arm recorded an operating loss of £5.8m last year even as revenues broke the £100m barrier for the first time, newly filed accounts reveal. Losses did narrow sharply from £9.4m the year before, and global Ebitda rose 12% to £14.3m — a record for the group. Chief executive Andy Wenlock credited the Netflix documentary 'Being Gordon Ramsay', which aired in February, for driving a surge in bookings.
The Bishopsgate tower site — home to Lucky Cat, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar and Gordon Ramsay High — was named the group's 'star performer', with sales this year already more than double last year's.
Global revenues hit a record £151.8m, up 7%, as the group expanded into Vancouver, Ibiza and the Middle East, trading across 102 restaurants worldwide.
Despite the record Ebitda, the group paid no dividend to shareholders.
