GP says she was bullied out for flagging a trans doctor years before failings affecting up to 78 children were uncovered
Dr Sarah Redvers, a safeguarding GP for gender-distressed children in Sussex, sounded the alarm in July 2020 about Brighton GP Dr Sam Hall's prescribing of puberty blockers to under-18s. NHS England declared itself satisfied with his care. Dr Redvers says she was subsequently accused of transphobia and stepped down following an investigation into her conduct. She has pursued a constructive dismissal claim against NHS Sussex Integrated Care Board.
A separate report identified multiple failings at Dr Hall's practice affecting up to 78 children.
Dr Hall, a trans man and campaigner, complained he was being 'victimised' by the investigations.
Her concerns were first triggered when an 18-year-old patient sought testosterone from an overseas online clinic.
