GP says she was bullied out of NHS job over gender-care concerns years before failings affecting up to 78 children emerged

Dr Sarah Redvers, a safeguarding GP in Sussex, says that raising concerns about Brighton GP Dr Sam Hall's prescribing of puberty blockers to under-18s left her facing accusations of transphobia. She first sounded the alarm in July 2020, but NHS England reviewed the matter and declared itself satisfied with his care. She has since filed a constructive dismissal claim against NHS Sussex Integrated Care Board and has said she contemplated suicide.

Her concerns were triggered when an 18-year-old patient approached an overseas online clinic seeking testosterone.

Dr Hall wrote to the then-NHS Sussex chief alleging he was being 'victimised'.

Dr Hall, a trans campaigner, was among those who founded Brighton's Trans Health Hub.
