Graduate, 22, who was days away from training as a Northumbria Police detective is killed in Northumberland A1 crash

Erin Bennett died at the scene on the A1 near Felton shortly after 12.15pm on Sunday 18 October. A northbound Nissan Qashqai collided with a Renault Clio and a Tesla travelling south. The force she was about to join has opened an investigation and is appealing for dashcam and CCTV footage. Her family said: 'Our whole world has been shattered beyond belief.'

She had just earned a degree in criminology and psychology before landing her role.

Boyfriend Craig wrote: 'You were the light of my life.'

Her family thanked those who stopped to help her at the roadside.
