Grandfather, 74, admits raping woman whose husband drugged her for OVER 20 YEARS

Graham Brougham, a 74-year-old grandfather from Northwich, Cheshire, pleaded guilty at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday to raping a woman in September 2024 — one of 14 men charged with sexual offences against the same victim. The woman's husband, who cannot be named, had already admitted 62 offences against his wife including rape and administering a noxious substance across more than two decades. The victim watched from the public gallery, holding hands with a relative, as Brougham entered his guilty plea.
Judge Maurice Greene warned Brougham: 'You should be under no illusion, the sentence will be custody and a long time.'
Two other defendants — Keith Fotheringham, 59, of Dundee, and Sean Peers, 38, of Stockport — have also pleaded guilty to sexual offences against the same woman.
Ten further men, aged between 28 and 70, are due to stand trial from 2 November after denying the charges.
