Norma Gómez, grandmother of the ten-year-old Argentine girl found to be six months pregnant, had warned her daughter never to trust Julio Vivas, the man her daughter met online.

Norma Gómez says she warned her daughter, Andrea, never to leave the child unsupervised with Julio Vivas, 33, a man Andrea had met online. The girl identified Vivas as her abuser at Colonia Dora Hospital in Santiago del Estero. Prosecutor Guillermo Farías ordered his arrest, and police detained him on Tuesday in El Bracho. Vivas remains in custody and is accused of raping his stepdaughter.

Gómez disclosed that she herself was sexually abused at eight: 'I know what it's like to suffer.'

Officers seized Vivas's phone, and the girl's mother is expecting a child, according to local reports.

Her teacher, Lucrecia, said the quiet pupil had shown no signs of anything troubling her.
