Greek president snubs Kimberly Guilfoyle of farewell as embassy staff say they feel 'relief she's been fired'

Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas has denied Kimberly Guilfoyle the customary farewell visit accorded to departing ambassadors, with no protocol meeting scheduled following her abrupt forced resignation on Tuesday. Embassy staff in Athens described her exit as "unprecedented," with one staffer calling it "the most violent beheading of a mission" they had ever seen. Guilfoyle, 57, stepped down after the White House told her to go, amid reports she had pressed a Trump donor to cover a six-figure credit card debt.

A senior Tasoulas aide cautioned that Guilfoyle is "so brazen" that staff are not ruling out the possibility she could arrive uninvited to demand a grand farewell anyway.

Embassy staff reportedly said there is "no semblance of shock, rather relief" at her firing, and described her as "horrible and mean" to colleagues.

The snub denies Guilfoyle the standard circuit of meetings with the Greek head of state, prime minister and foreign minister that every outgoing ambassador would ordinarily receive.
