Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane's estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart calls his ALS battle a 'heartbreaking experience' ahead of posthumous memoir

Rebecca Gayheart filed for divorce from Eric Dane in 2018 but asked to dismiss the petition in March 2025. When he called with his diagnosis, she told him: 'I'm here, we'll fight this together, I'm not going anywhere.' His final months with daughters Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14, were spent on sushi lunches and game nights. Dane died aged 53 on February 19.

His memoir 'My Book of Days' is due for release on November 3.

Dane wrote that he told Gayheart 'It's what we feared', then felt 'a violent impact'.

Gayheart says the book lets 'my girls' know their dad 'as a human being'.
